Warning: I’m about to talk about events that transpire in Episode 5 of Game of Thrones. Proceed at your own risk of spoilers.
So, how about that cliffhanger? I just got around to playing Episode 5, and in a classic Telltale move, they made us choose between Rodrik and Asher Forrester. I chose to leave Rodrik behind to die. Why? Because, that’s what I would do as the first born son in my family. I’m the eldest sibling in my family and there’s no way I’d let either my brother or sister stay behind for me. That made my decision right there; but even so, Asher had control of the sellswords. He brokered the deal with Dany. He was in prime health and condition. Meanwhile, Rodrik is all busted up, and this was his chance to go out with a bang. Maybe it was just that turncoat, Ser Royland, in his head, but no matter. He survived the Red Wedding, not as a coward, but to hold the family together until his brother could return with his little army. That’s how I view it. And as much as I’d like to know how the story goes with each brother surviving, I’ll probably always stick with this choice. That’s how I usually roll with these games. I go with my gut and stick with it.
How about y’all? Who did you leave behind? Asher or Rodrik? Do you regret your decision?
