IGN reports today that Telltale Game’s upcoming “Fables” game will be called, The Wolf Among Us. They also report that the first episode will be released sometime this summer on PS3, 360, PC, and Mac.

The Wolf Among Us takes place prior to the comics and lets players take on the role of Bigby Wolf (The Big Bad Wolf), who has been exiled to New York City. The game follows Wolf as he tries to keep fairy tale characters including Mr. Toad and the Three Little Pigs undetected in our world.”

I really have no idea what Fables is about, besides that it’s a DC Comic. So, if you’re like me and need to be educated, then read this Wikipedia summary of the comic series:

“Fables is a comic book series created by writer Bill Willingham, published by DC Comics’s Vertigo imprint beginning in 2002. The series deals with various characters from fairy tales and folklore – referring to themselves as “Fables” – who have been forced out of their Homelands by “The Adversary” who has conquered the realm. The Fables have traveled to our world and formed a clandestine community in New York City known as Fabletown. Fables who are unable to blend in with human society (such as monsters and anthropomorphic animals) live at “the Farm” in upstate New York.”

Well, that sounds pretty interesting and cool. I might need to know more, but this is Telltale Games. I’ve been a huge fan of their company for quite a while now. I’ve played Tales of Monkey Island, Back to the Future, Jurassic Park, and The Walking Dead (GOTY). Jurassic Park was a bit of a disappointment, but the other three more than make up for it. I’m pretty much willing to try anything they come out with at this point! So, in closing, I am definitely looking forward to The Wolf Among Us.

P.S. I hope they’re still making the new King’s Quest game…
